This song was a collaboration with Zoe Hines, a local artist and DJ. She was influenced by the film Natural Born Killers, and horror media in general in her conception of this song, so we wanted to lean into those horror elements when shooting the video. It was amazing to see Zoe inhabit the character she plays in this video as she grapples with killing the only person who's ever given her trouble: herself.

"Heirlooms in Bloom" traces multidisciplinary artist Dashaunae Marisa's journey as she breathes life into forgotten ancestors. Set against the blooming landscapes of Los Angeles, this short film ponders how care and preservation-whether for a flower or a legacy-can honor the richness and resilience of Black life.

"Tending to the Soul" tells the story of Freedom Farm Azul- a queer/black owned farm doing restorative justice work in Alabama, on property originally owned by Indigenous people. The story follows Jasmyn- the founder and proprietor as they continue to use their voice and ample ability to affect change on the larger scale in the community around them.

This video is in promotion of Kitfo TV, a brand new streaming platform specializing in serving Ethiopian and Eritrean creators. When speaking with Denkinesh, their founder and Forbidden Fruit Productions, I found that the concept of shared food/ideas shared across the table kept appearing. The word "kitfo" itself comes from an African dish, and so I wanted to weave the themes of shared meals into this promo. It came out better than I could have imagined!

This mockumentary short film tells the story of Tonya, an egomaniacal studio executive who gathers a ragtag group of writers to reboot a popular IP. She ends up butting heads with Khari, the son of the studio head, and hijinks ensue while they clash over what makes a good movie.

Based on a popular Ethopian song, Langano tells the story of a young woman finding love at the beach. My main goal while shooting this was to capture the whimsical nature of the song while employing Super 8 film for the "memory" sections.
